By the end of this session, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how the brain influences behavior, especially during moments of escalation. We’ll explore how escalation follows predictable patterns, and how co-regulation plays a critical role in helping students return to a state where learning is possible.

The goal is not just to manage behavior, but to prevent challenges when possible by helping students build the skills they need to succeed. This includes strengthening skills such as communication, emotional regulation, problem solving, flexibility, and self-advocacy. It also means responding to behavior in ways that teach and reinforce these skills over time, and supporting students in developing greater independence, confidence, and long-term success.
