Proactive Strategies & Collaboration Solutions: Secondary
Tuesday September 1, 2026 1:30pm - 2:15pm EDT
This presentation will focus on the underlying assumptions about behavior and look at how we can proactively design environments, build skills, and use collaborative approaches to support students more effectively. The goal is not just to manage behavior, but to prevent challenges when possible by helping students build the skills they need to succeed. This includes strengthening skills such as communication, emotional regulation, problem solving, flexibility, and self-advocacy. It also means responding to behavior in ways that teach and reinforce these skills over time, and supporting students in developing greater independence, confidence, and long-term success.
